*Synopsis

If you want to know more about this historically rooted artistic expression, look no further! This book traces the history of Japanese tattooing, putting iconography and symbols into context. Not only will you find traditional tebori (handmade) tattoos and inspiring images of classic dragons, tigers and flowers, but also modern anime-inspired work and much more. It includes interviews with Japanese tattoo artists and profiles of tattooed clients who talk about what Japanese tattooing means to them. This book gives the respect and reverence that the sacred and timeless art of ink deserves.
