Taught by Cisco Morales, an expert Japanese tattoo artist and great scholar of Japanese culture, this seminar will guide you through the fundamentals and practice of one of Japan's most revered art forms.

First Block: Theory

• History of Nihonga: Discover the origins of this traditional Japanese painting, its influences and evolution over the centuries. A solid foundation to understand not only the technique, but the culture behind it.
• Introduction to working materials: You will learn about the essential elements of Nihonga, including the types of papers, brushes, pigments and binders that make this art unique.
• Preparation of the work table and pigments: We will teach you how to organise your space and prepare the materials to work efficiently and respectfully with tradition.

Second Block: Practice

• Flash design with traditional materials: You will apply what you have learnt in the theory block by creating your own flash design. You will use authentic Nihonga pigments, brushes and techniques, developing a work in the traditional Japanese style.
• This seminar is perfect for both tattoo artists who wish to delve deeper into Japanese aesthetics and for those interested in the ancient techniques of painting. Cisco Morales, with his extensive experience in Japanese tattooing, will be your guide throughout the process, giving you practical and cultural tips that will enrich your artistic practice.

• Limited places: The groups are small to facilitate learning and personal attention.

*For the seminar, you will need a pair of brushes, one for line and one for fill. You can buy them in Galería Cultural Dynasty or in Zhonghua Chinese Bookshop, the other materials needed for the practice will be provided in the same seminar.
