El Chimu - The Sacred Tonalpohualli
A new book from the infamous, El Chimu, all done in his iconic and distinctive style. This book is packed with the 20 different signs that make up the Tonalpohualli, translated from Nahuatl to mean "the count of days," a 260 day count schedule, broken into 20 thirteen day periods. The knowledge and symbols presents in this book are sacred to the ancient Aztecs (more appropriately known as the Mexica) and their descendants. This book is written in both English and Spanish.
For each symbol there is a transparent line drawing, a detailed explanation of the sign, and a perforated sheet of flash behind the line drawing that you can detach or leave in the book. These sacred signs include the crocodile, wind, house , lizard, snake, death, deer, rabbit, water, dog, monkey, grass, reed, ocelot, eagle, vulture, movement, flint knife, rain, and flower.
