When most people keep a diary, they usually write down memories, phrases, ideas, etc. on a daily basis. But Chad Koeplinger is not like most people. Instead of writing, he decided that his 2024 journal would be a new sheet of hand-painted flash every day of the year. No matter where he was or what situation he was in, Chad sat down to create at least one original sheet of flash tattoos a day. He didn't miss a single one, and the result, put bluntly, is breathtaking.
From one day to the next, Koeplinger's styles and colour studies vary greatly. Although there are recurring themes throughout the project, each sheet has its own identity and can be appreciated as a unique work of art. The perseverance and dedication it took to carry out and complete this project is testament to Chad's endless talent and creative stamina as an artist.
This annual project will culminate with an exhibition of all of Chad's original artwork on March 28, 2025 at Great Lakes Tattoo in Chicago, Illinois.
