The formula presented in these colours follows the tradition of what was done many years ago, known as "OLD PIGMENTS". Solid wanted to offer a true set of traditional colours, which will be particularly appreciated by Old School artists.
Some raw pigments used in painting today, such as Oranges and Browns, tend to fade when exposed to the sun over many years, but not these. Here they have not used any Orange, Magenta, Brown or Violet as a base, only what we like to call "OLD PIGMENTS".
They have achieved these tones using a different approach. For example, when we see brown, we combine red, yellow, green and black. When it comes to Orange, Red and Yellow. Solid Inks "OLD PIGMENTS" are a combination of traditional methods and ingredients and, in some cases, mixed with pre-dispersed formulas. All colours are made from what they call "powdered" pigments, the selection of these powdered pigments is based on decades of experience, and have proven to be the most stable and durable over the years. The bottles are opaque, as in the old days, you will not see the exact shades through them, they come in 60ml.
