TRADITIONAL

Also known as Old School, its history dates back to over 100 years ago on the coasts of the United States, where the first to get tattooed were sailors. In 1776, at least four kinds of tattoos could be distinguished, popular Euro-American designs, in the style of those known as old school today, initials, Christian symbols and non-Western motifs by traditional peoples.

In World War II, the practice of tattooing was given a patriotic meaning, and from that time to the present day, the evolution of this style has been important. With a flat perspective, little colour and thick lines, this style of tattooing predominates among the style that dominates the majority of tattoo professionals.

The purpose of the tattoo was to remember loved ones or to recall adventures at sea. The origins of traditional tattooing are the basis of what we now know and practice as professionals of this art.

At In Tattoo Veritas we have gathered for you almost a hundred books dedicated to this iconic and popular style of tattooing.
